The first Module of the course is largely a non-quantitative module providing background material covering the task of a petrophysicist, surface and downhole equipment, drilling a well and the wellbore environment, ending in a quicklook at logs to be able to identify, reservoir, porosity and fluid types.

Subsequent Modules delve into a full quantitative petrophysical workflow to calculate reservoir parameters such as shale volume, total and effective porosity and water saturation, followed by a look at permeability estimation and net pay calculation.
